War in Heaven

I have a question and have sent it to End Times Ministry (Irvin Baxter) and to The Word for Today (Chuck Smith and Don Stewart). We'll see what response I receive:

I have a few questions, please.

Revelation 12 is commonly used to describe a future time when Satan and a 1/3rd of the angels are taken out of heaven.

From the following verses it appears Satan was cast out a long time ago.

Thoughts?

Also Revelation 12:6 describes a time when “she” was kept in the desert for 3 ½ years. Would you take from this that Jesus was in Egypt for 3 ½ years?

It seems at least some of these verses are describing both events from long ago and events from the future.

I would appreciate your insight – please.

The Male Child, Christ
5 And she gave birth to a son, a male child, who is to rule all the nations with a rod of iron; and her child was caught up to God and to His throne. 6 Then the woman fled into the wilderness where she *had a place prepared by God, so that there she would be nourished for one thousand two hundred and sixty days.

The Angel, Michael
7 And there was war in heaven, Michael and his angels waging war with the dragon. The dragon and his angels waged war, 8and they were not strong enough, and there was no longer a place found for them in heaven.
